I hope he's a patient man, and I hope he finds a way to keep the honeymoon going for a while. The erstwhile 'natural governing party' did so much damage that their brand is going to eclipse whatever moral merit 'Liberalism' might have for a long time. Ignatieff is a brillant guy and by all accounts a good man. But he's also an intellectual (they hate those down at Tim Horton's), and a Liberal (you know, those guys that are defending themselves in court) and a 'star candidate' (which those folks down by the lake have not forgotten). Trudeau inherited the legacy of Pearson. Plus he had a cool car. Michael Ignatieff has a bit more of a hill to climb.
