Hey, Stuart. Glad to hear that you're trying out podcasts. Sometimes I wish I had a longer commute (currently 30 seconds) so I could listen to more of them. I try to find other situations that are podcast-listening-friendly -- working out at the gym, going for a walk (though not in a heavily trafficked area), raking leaves, etc. Some folks can listen while their brains are engaged in another task, but I find I can't truly "tune in" if my mind is focused on something else.
