Re: Web 2.0 is over. And it's a good thing.
by Anonymous
All the web has ever done, all that it will ever do, is remove the obstacles of time and space and sometimes cost from the ways in which people are naturally wired to behave. Read that twice. Every spasm of web development has been presaged by dewy-eyed techno-idealists proclaiming that it will change everything. They move on, either impoverished or cashed out of their IPOs, revealing that it isn't the future that's being invented, it was the past. Now that the pioneers have been dispensed with, I'm looking forward to seeing what the settlers will do to make it all mean something. ; )
