Hi Martin,
It's basically Y! allowing geo-targetting for Canada in paid search results (those top-of-the-search-return links, or sometimes on the side; you know the "sponsored links"). There are more bells and whistles, but that's the big news. Google has things along these lines this for quite some time.
Which might have something to do with why Google is so dominant, why search as a "media" is underdeveloped in Canada, and why Y! is adding this feature now.
